FAFSA Night


NMSU Is hosting a FAFSA Night on November 14. 
5-7 pm 
Hardman Jacobs Hall Computer Lab
TWO scholarships will be given away just for coming and filling out the form.

KUDOS to YOU senior teachers and advisory teachers as we had about 100 families represented last night for the LCHS FAFSA Night. Excellent turn out. 

Fast Fact
We had 244 seniors apply on October 11 to NMSU/DACC! Great Job to senior teachers and senior advisory teachers!!

            The Daniels Scholarship Program provides a four-year annually-renewable college scholarship for graduating high school seniors in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming who demonstrate           exceptional character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities. It is a “last dollar”
            scholarship that pays toward tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and miscellaneous    educational expenses. Scholars may attend any nonprofit accredited school in the United States.

***VFW Voices of Democracy
Youth Scholarships
The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $30,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you.

***Stokes Educational Scholarship Program (NSA)
The Stokes Educational Scholarship Program, formerly known as the Undergraduate Training Program, facilitates the recruitment of individuals, particularly minority high school students, who have demonstrated skills critical to NSA. Stokes is open to high school seniors planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.

***National Youth Language Initiative for Youth NSLI-Y
Application Deadline is November 1 for summer 2018.
The National Youth Language Initiative for Youth is part of a US Government initiative that prepares American citizens to be leaders in a global world. NLSI-Y programs offer intensive language immersion in a variety of locations around the word. Beginners are welcome to apply for any of the target languages; previous language experience is not required. Scholarships are available for students to learn specific languages.

***Hispanic Scholarship Fund We empower Latino families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional Hispanic American students as possible. Multiple deadlines
***AXA Achievement Scholarship
The AXA Achievementsm Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. In addition, for every student who wins a scholarship, a grant in the amount of $1,000 will be made to the winner’s school.

***Building Scholars – UTEP
A prestigious research-intensive training program, funded by the National Institutes of Health and reserved for students with a strong motivation to become researchers in biomedical, social, behavioral or health sciences or biomedical engineering. Areas of emphasis include: addiction, cancer, environmental health, health disparities, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative and chronic diseases and translational biomedicine.
